Gascoigne said on the High Performance podcast: “If I want to make it a bad day, I’ll go in the pub … I used to be a happy drunk: I ain’t any more, I’m a sad drunk … I don’t go out and drink, I’ll drink indoors.” Paul Gascoigne says he is a ‘sad drunk’ and lives in his agent’s spare room.
